Tea: An Infusion of Science
Last February 21st, for the seventh edition of A Celebration of Science and to emphasize on the presence of youth in science, we have honoured the six young scientists who inspired the new Imagine! exhibition gallery.
After successive presentations focusing on the themes of molecular gastronomy, the chemistry of cooking, salt, chocolate and the components of beer, the Montréal Science Centre’s most prestigious benefit event revealed, this year, the mysteries of tea and its gastronomic uses. Viewed through the lens of scientific exploration, age-old practices were examined next to the latest discoveries, leading participants on a journey through the fascinating world of tea.
The Foundation’s goal in organizing this evening is to raise funds to help it carry out the Centre’s educational and cultural programs and to produce new exhibitions. In addition to gathering the partners who support our project of providing the Greater Montréal area with an institution devoted to scientific and technological knowledge, the event brings together philanthropic societies, industries, organizations, associations and institutions dedicated to science, technology and research.
The next Celebration of Science will be held on February 19, 2009.
